FAQ
Vindex credit repair FAQ, explained.
Everything you need to know about Vindex credit dispute software, AI credit repair, FCRA disputes, your consumer rights, and how to safely manage the process yourself.
What is Vindex credit repair?
Vindex credit repair refers to Vindex Intelligence's guided AI credit dispute software. It is not a law firm and not a credit repair organization; it helps you safely manage your own credit-report disputes by reading your credit report, identifying inaccurate or unverifiable negative items, drafting FCRA-cited dispute letters, tracking bureau deadlines, and preparing counter-responses when bureaus verify an item.
Can Vindex help me repair my credit myself?
Yes. You can dispute credit-report errors yourself for free with Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, and furnishers. Vindex helps you do that work more thoroughly by organizing evidence, generating bureau-ready letters, citing the correct FCRA, FDCPA, FCBA, or METRO 2 issue, and tracking the 30-day reinvestigation window.
How is Vindex different from Credit Versio, CreditRepair.com, and other credit repair apps?
Vindex is built around guided DIY credit disputes and professional dispute workflows in one workspace. The focus is not only a first dispute letter — Vindex also tracks certified-mail status, watches the bureau response window, drafts Method-of-Verification counter letters, and prepares CFPB escalation when a bureau or furnisher does not properly verify an item.
What is Credit Dispute Software?
Credit dispute software helps you identify inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unverifiable items on your Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion credit reports and dispute them under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Successful disputes can result in deletions or corrections, but no legitimate tool can guarantee a specific score increase or deletion.
How does AI Credit Dispute Software work?
Vindex Intelligence's AI parses your three-bureau credit report, cross-references every tradeline against the FCRA, FDCPA, FCBA, and METRO 2 standards, and drafts bureau-ready dispute letters citing the exact statute that supports each challenge.
How long does Credit Dispute Software take?
Credit bureaus have 30 days to respond to a dispute under FCRA §611. Most Vindex members see their first deletions within 30–45 days of mailing the first round of letters. Complex files may require 3–6 months of multi-round disputing.
Can I dispute items on my credit report myself for free?
Yes. You have the right to dispute items directly with Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, and the original creditor at no cost. Vindex exists to make the process faster, more thorough, and grounded in current consumer law.
What can be removed from a credit report?
Inaccurate, incomplete, unverifiable, or outdated information — including collections, charge-offs, late payments, hard inquiries, repossessions, foreclosures, bankruptcies past the 10-year window, and identity-theft tradelines.
Will paying off a collection remove it?
Not automatically. Paying a collection generally updates the status to 'paid collection' but does not delete it. A pay-for-delete agreement, debt validation challenge, or FCRA reinvestigation letter is usually required for actual removal.
What is a 609 dispute letter?
A 609 letter is a request under FCRA §609 demanding that the credit bureau provide the documentation it relied on to verify a disputed item. If the bureau cannot produce the records, the item must be deleted.
What is a debt validation letter?
Under FDCPA §1692g, you can demand that a third-party debt collector validate a debt within 30 days of first contact. If they cannot validate, they must cease collection activity and remove the item.
What is a goodwill letter?
A goodwill letter is a polite request to an original creditor asking them to remove an isolated late payment as a courtesy. It works best on accounts with an otherwise strong payment history.
How long do negative items stay on my credit report?
Most negative items stay for 7 years from the date of first delinquency under FCRA §605. Chapter 7 bankruptcies remain for 10 years. Inquiries fall off after 2 years.
Will Credit Dispute Software hurt my score?
Disputing items does not by itself lower your score. In fact, successful deletions almost always increase your score. The dispute process is a legally protected consumer right.
Is Vindex Intelligence a law firm?
No. Vindex Intelligence is a document-automation technology platform that provides AI-powered analysis and document-preparation services. We do not provide legal advice. For legal counsel, please consult a licensed attorney.
Can you guarantee items will be removed?
No legitimate credit-repair company can guarantee removals. The Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) prohibits guaranteed-result claims. We can guarantee that every letter is grounded in the strongest applicable law.
Is my credit data safe with Vindex?
Yes. Reports are encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in a SOC-2-aligned environment, never sold or shared, and you can delete your data permanently at any time.
